Formed almost 50 years ago, we are a market leader in providing safe, high quality, durable and reliable products competitively, on time and anywhere in the UK and Ireland, which is why we have been awarded with the title of the ‘UK’s number one excavator supplier’. From the company’s formation to the present day our ethos has been to be the leading name in construction equipment in the UK, by delivering class leading products with national product support from our 11 depots and appointed sub-dealer in Ireland. Having originally traded under the names Beazer Plant Sales and BM Plant between 1972 and 1993, the company became HM Plant in 1993 before becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe in 2007 and eventually changing our name to Hitachi Construction Machinery UK in 2014. HCMUK headquarters were relocated from Somerset to a purpose-built seven-acre site at Hebburn, South Tyneside. This enabled easier and cost-effective importation of machines via the North Sea from Amsterdam, Oosterhout and Japan. Our HQ is a statement for the values and work ethics that has made Hitachi Construction Machinery synonymous within the construction, quarry and mining industries.
