Midlands-based J. Taberner Plant Hire add ZW250-5 Wheel Loader to their growing fleet

Tuesday, December 01, 2015

Leading plant hire company J. Taberner have added to their growing fleet of Hitachi machines, taking delivery of a new Hitachi ZW250-5 wheel loader on Monday morning.

Based in Burton on Trent and led by Directors Martin and Max Taberner, the family-ran business has been operating for over 60 years, supplying construction and civil engineering machinery and equipment throughout the Midlands.

Despite having a Hitachi-dominated fleet of excavators, it’s the first time they have bought a wheel loader from Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK). Max explained; “Hitachi excavators have been the mainstay of our excavator fleet for over 20 years as experience has proven time and time again that they run for years, are incredibly reliable and deliver such strong residual values. So, our first thought when purchasing excavators is to buy Hitachi. However, previously we had overlooked the fact that their wheel loader range offers the same benefits, and decided now was the right time to take a look.”

The Hitachi ZW250-5 will be for J Taberner’s own use, who supply crushing, recycling and waste transfer services. It was given its first test on Monday afternoon and Max was impressed by its performance stating; “It’s early days, but first impressions are superb. The setup is far superior to anything we have ever had before and the engine seems incredibly powerful. That said, it seems very efficient, so hopefully we will enjoy a reduction in fuel costs too!”

The new Hitachi dash-5 range of wheel loaders made a big impression at the Hillhead Quarry Exhibition in June, when the Hitachi ZW330-5B wheel loader was showcased. To find out more about our wheel loader range please click here.
