Historically HCMUK have successfully operated management systems at Hebburn HQ, which are certified against the requirements of ISO 9001 (quality), 45001 (health & safety), 14001 (environmental) and 50001 (energy). This has helped us to operate safely, sustainably, and with a customer focus.
To maintain the ethos of continual improvement the decision has been made to transfer from our previous certification body NQA to BSI, who as our new partner will help us to drive up our standards and assist us in achieving best practice. As part of this process we have also been able to transition to the latest version of the ISO 50001 standard and have added the Port of Tyne depot into the scope of our certification.

BSI were chosen as they already work with other Hitachi group companies and are considered as one of the leading certification bodies in the UK. We have been supported by BSI throughout the onboarding process and we are sure it will be a positive experience working collaboratively with them going forward.”
