Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe and is responsible for the supply of mini, medium, large and wheeled excavators; wheel loaders, rigid dump trucks, parts and servicing to the UK and Irish construction industry, from our ten depots nationwide and appointed sub-dealer in Ireland.

Position: Sales Executive

Location: Scotland

 

Duties will include:

  • Responsible for promoting and selling the full Hitachi range of construction equipment
  • Create solutions and ensure a smooth sales process
  • Raise customer orders
  • Generate new sales leads through business directories, client referrals etc.
  • Monitor competitive activity
  • Report sales trends
  • Meet sales targets
  • Represent company at exhibitions and events
  • Liaise with the production department and sales administration department

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Essential

  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C and above).
  • Demonstrable experience in similar role, minimum of 2 years’ experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to manage change and comply with internal and external business processes.
  • Excellent time management skills, be a forward thinker with the capability to plan ahead with strong organisational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with the aptitude to think on your feet and resolve issues that may arise.
  • Has a “can do/ will do” attitude.
  • To work safely and efficiently.
  • Keeps people informed of progress on key tasks.
  • Polite and approachable at all times.
  • Open to new ideas and listens to others people’s point of view.
  • Conducts themselves in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Communicates clearly and appropriately.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Analyse own performance and takes steps to improve this.
  • Remains focused when faced with competing demands.
  • Keeps people informed of progress on key tasks.
  • Adapts their communication style to suit their customer/colleague responding to their feedback.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills, being proficient with applications such as MS office.

Preferred

  • Experience of working in the manufacturing or similar industry.
  • The ability to build rapport quickly with colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to provide assistance and support to colleagues, demonstrating a hands on approach with an aptitude to effectively organise and prioritise workloads.
