Customer Update – COVID-19

Thursday, November 05, 2020

In light of the recent Government announcement regarding a second lockdown in England from Thurs 4th Nov, we felt it was appropriate to update and reassure you our customers, that we are open for business and remain committed to supporting you as normal.

Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK) Ltd (HCMUK) remained operational throughout the COVID-19 crisis to ensure continuity of support for those customers who also remained operational. Since the start of the pandemic crisis in February this year, we have implemented a number of strategies to ensure the health and safety of our staff, customers, and suppliers is protected as this is the number one priority.

We kept these measures in place even when the Government guidelines started to relax, so despite this latest lockdown, it is “business as usual” for HCMUK. For clarification and reassurance we have listed below some of the established protocols that will continue for the foreseeable future.

  • Parts collections – Whilst we can arrange contactless parts collections from all of our depots, we would encourage our customers to have them delivered wherever possible. Collections can be made via pre-arranged visits to our depots (contact numbers below)
  • On site Servicing and Repairs will continue as required, respecting customer COVID-19 guidelines and implementing HCMUK guidelines.
  • Wherever practicable, our employees will continue to work from home and continue to offer you the high levels of service that we pride ourselves on. For those roles that cannot be carried out from home, we implement various strategies at all sites to allow social distancing, sanitising, and working in “bubbles” where appropriate.
  • Our entire team remain at your disposal and can be contacted in the usual way, and we are ready to serve and support you as always. https://www.hitachicm.co.uk/contact/

We hope that you, your families and colleagues remain safe and healthy.

Yours Sincerely,

David Roberts
